About Brightlux

On April 6, 1998, a group of professional managers from Dutch multinational Philips Electronics & Lighting formed KASSEL Ventures Phils., Inc.. Coming from complementary fields ranging from sales, marketing, finance, human resources, manufacturing, logistics, after-sales service & quality management, the team of 8 wanted to apply all the skills learned from Philips into their own company.

The team’s expertise in OEM (original equipment manufacturing) was put to the fore. Alan L. Lee, former General Manager and 30-year veteran of the Consumer Products Division of Philips Philippines, spearheaded the entire start up process that encompassed product sourcing and selection, quality assurance testing, importation, packaging and label design, marketing, distribution, sales, trade relations & after-sales servicing. Thus was born the KASSEL brand of consumer electronics, home appliances and lighting.

In addition to being GM of Philips’ Consumer Products Division, A. Lee also held the following key positions:

  1. Vice Chairman, Philips Corporate Communications Committee, which gave him exposure & valuable insight on the products of all other Philips divisions -- semiconductors, medical equipment, consumer lighting & professional lighting.
  2. Member, Philips Regional (Quality) Audit Team, whose main task was to evaluate & assess the performance of all Philips factories in Asia as well as the manufacturing facilities of 3rd party suppliers vis-à-vis their compliance with Philips quality standards.
Now on its 13th year of operations, KASSEL Ventures boasts of a number of major lighting projects to-date:

  • Illumination of the main race track, turf building & perimeter area of the Manila Jockey Club
  • City of San Juan street lighting
  • Perimeter lighting of private subdivision Loyola Grand Villas
  • Illumination of the Pasay City Public Market
